International Sculpture Day - 2020

Today, April 25, 2020 is International Sculpture Day. Thank you to the students of Ms. Bican's 5th Period Ceramics 1 course, as well as some of her advanced metalwork students, for contributing to this international art initiative!

FINE ARTS DEPARTMENT PHILOSOPHY

The philosophy of the North High School Fine Arts Department faculty is to offer students a well-rounded curricular experience that includes exposure to genres of music, theatre, and visual art in a wide variety of creative settings. Program goals that serve as tenets for the North High School Fine Arts Department faculty are: To provide a productive and cooperative learning environment in which students of various backgrounds and ability levels may learn to achieve outstanding artistic results; To intentionally study music, theatre and visual art from cultures and communities that have been historically under-represented; To engage students in a journey toward artistic and personal success at the highest level; To develop in young people the appreciation, discrimination, analysis, and participation skills necessary to become lifelong consumers of the arts.
