Students from the DGN AP and Studio level Ceramics courses traveled to the Fine Line Creative Arts Center in St. Charles last week for an immersive outdoor firing in the Raku tradition (an ancient Japanese technique).
Each student made three pieces and participated in pulling works from the Raku Kilns. Artists covered their works with combustible materials to achieve the iridescent quality of the Raku technique.
