Theatre Students Reflect, Celebrate, and Plan

 

Dozens of student thespians from the DGN Theatre Program converged on Studio 248 this afternoon to reflect on the recently completed season, celebrate a myriad of accomplishments, and to begin planning for the 2019-20 season. Congratulations to all of our theatre students, and a special thank you is extended to the seniors in the Class of 2019!

FOFA Presents Inaugural Senior Scholarships!

Jozie Arenz and Lucie Boyd - 2019 DGN FOFA Senior Scholarship Recipients

Congratulations to seniors Jozie Arenz and Lucie Boyd who were recognized at North High's Awards Night with DGN Friends of Fine Arts College Scholarships. 

This was the inaugural year of the scholarships, honoring a student who plans to pursue the arts as a major in college, as well as a student who plans to continue their involvement with the arts as an avocation during their post-secondary studies. 

District 99 Orchestra Presents Spring Concert Thursday Night!

Don't miss the final concert of the year for the District 99 Concert Orchestra and District 99 Symphonic Orchestra on Thursday, May 9. The concert is FREE and begins at 7 PM in the South High School Auditorium. Doors open for General Admission seating at 6:30 PM.

Out-of-town family and friends may view the concert live-stream on the DGS Fine Arts YouTube Channel. Video will also be available to view once the concert concludes.

DGN Band Banquet Celebrates Successful Year

DGN Band Legacy Award Winners

The 2019 DGN Band Banquet - held at Ashyana in Downers Grove - brought together 400+ members of the band family to celebrate another extremely successful year.

Special thanks are extended to the many parent volunteers who created a spectacular event, most notably Ms. Doreen Covey and  Ms. Heather Pleune (Banquet Co-Chairs), and Ms. Diane Duncan (Raffle/Auction Chair).

The students and faculty of the Fine Arts Department and the DGN Bands gratefully acknowledge the participation by families in the 2019 Band Raffle/Silent Auction. The money raised in support of the DGN Bands will go a long way in providing impactful experiences for our student musicians.
