Summer Music Camp Scholarships from DGN Music Boosters

The DGN Music Boosters annually provide an opportunity for band, choir and orchestra students to apply for “Summer Music Camp Scholarships.”

The money to fund these scholarships is collected through our “Contributing Members” campaign.  Scholarship awards are not set at a specific dollar amount.  Rather, we look carefully at all of the applications, as well as the funding available in a particular year, and work to honor each student applicant’s summer music camp experience with an award of some kind.  Preference is given to current freshman, sophomores and juniors who will be returning to DGN next year.  At times, when additional funding has been available, the Music Boosters have honored applications from current seniors with partial scholarships.

The application process has been moved to an online environment this year.  No paper applications will be accepted.  Students should follow this link to begin the application process.

Students are encouraged to read the application questions online, and then compose their answers off-line in a word processing application.  Students should save their work, and then copy responses into the online form before submitting.  (The application form will not allow a student to begin the application, save their work online, and return to finish it later.  So it is best to work off-line until you are ready to fully submit the form.)

We encourage all band, choir and orchestra students who are planning to attend a summer music camp of some kind this year to apply for financial assistance!

The application deadline is Friday, April 29, 2011.

Thank you Music Boosters!

Each year at IMEA, the DGN Music Boosters sponsors a dinner for our All-State musicians as a way to say "thanks and congratulations" for a job well done. On behalf of all the DGN students and staff that attended IMEA, we extend gratitude to our Music Boosters for this experience. It is a blessing indeed to be able to sit back, enjoy a meal, and celebrate the great work of these student musicians.

2,000 (Cheesecakes) Thank Yous!

Many thanks to our wonderful Music Booster volunteers for executing this year’s Cheesecake Sale.  Over 2,000 cakes were sold in support of music activities.  A big thanks to chairpersons Tana Williams and Andria Barry for the many hours they contributed to this effort.  And thank you as well to all who helped unload/check/distribute the orders this past Saturday.  A great team effort!

Flower Sale 2009

Many thanks are extended to the DGN Music Boosters for their incredible work on the 2009 Flower Sale. Thousands or dollars were raised to support the arts in our community.

Thank you to the students and parents who arrived at 6 AM this morning to help unload the truck and prepare orders for pick up.

And a very special thank you to Laura and Dan Cozza who have co-chaired our Flower Sale for many years. We will miss you next year! (Pictured with John and Marianne Moscato, Music Booster President.)

1,298 Scrumptious Cheesecakes!

Thank you to our North High Music Boosters, led by Cheesecake Sale Coordinators Tana Williams and Andria Barry, for their incredible work! An army of dedicated volunteers sorted through 1,298 cheesecakes this past Saturday, and in doing so wrapped up a sale that brought in over $6,400 in profits for our music students who are raising funds for a February 2009 tour. The students and staff of North High are very appreciative!
