Guest artist Tony Kidonakis works with Jazz Ensemble

Music teacher Tony Kidonakis (Downers Grove District 58) works with the North High Jazz Ensemble on November 13th. Mr. Kidonakis will return to North High for the annual Jazz Cafe concert (Friday, January 9) as the featured artists and soloist.

FINE ARTS DEPARTMENT PHILOSOPHY

The philosophy of the North High School Fine Arts Department faculty is to offer students a well-rounded curricular experience that includes exposure to genres of music, theatre, and visual art in a wide variety of creative settings. Program goals that serve as tenets for the North High School Fine Arts Department faculty are: To provide a productive and cooperative learning environment in which students of various backgrounds and ability levels may learn to achieve outstanding artistic results; To intentionally study music, theatre and visual art from cultures and communities that have been historically under-represented; To engage students in a journey toward artistic and personal success at the highest level; To develop in young people the appreciation, discrimination, analysis, and participation skills necessary to become lifelong consumers of the arts.
