Congratulations Jesse Backes

The North High Fine Arts Department and the DGN Band extend congratulations to alumnus Jesse Backes, and the 2011 Cavaliers Drum and Bugle Corps, for winning the "High Percussion" trophy at the 2011 World Championships in Indianapolis, IN.  Jesse, a member of the Caviliers Snare Drum line this year, is a student at the University of Illinois and a former Section Captain in the DGN Trojan Marching Band.

The 2011 Trojan Marching Band Leadership Team is at the Lincoln Marsh
Teams and High Ropes Course in Wheaton, IL, this morning. Today marks
the beginning of an intensive three-day training where student leaders
from the band are honing their peer leadership skills.

Today the DGN Band Hat (with Mr. Teague as chaperone) visited the "Field of Dreams" in "Heaven" ... (aka 'Iowa').

Independence Day Parades

Congratulations to the members of the DGN Trojan Marching Band and the members of the DGS Marching Mustangs, as the two schools joined forces to create the 2011 Community High School District 99 Marching Band!

Blue skies and warm temperatures greeted our students for two parades: Darien, IL and Downers Grove, IL. Both parade routes were packed with onlookers cheering our students.

We offer a special thanks to every student (and their families) who made it a point to participate in this year's Independence Day parades. We are very proud of your commitment to our schools, our community, and our nation.

District 99 Marching Band Ready for July 4th!

Members of the DGN and DGS Marching Bands have joined forces once again this year in preparation for the Darien and Downers Grove Independence Day Parades. Tonights rehearsal at North High was the final prep for this combined band effort.

Come out and cheer on your Trojan Marching Band and Marching Mustangs next Monday at either the Darien (9:30 AM) or Downers Grove (1:00 PM) parades.

Special Note: The District 99 Marching Band will be sporting NEW uniform shirts this year! Look for Mustang Blue, Trojan Purple, and the NEW District 99 Logo on the move!

July 4th Parade Preparation

Members of the DGN and DGS marching bands were hard at work tonight in preparation for the July 4th parades in Darien and Downers Grove.

Congratulations - Class of 2011!

It's graduation day!  The faculty and staff of the Fine Arts Department congratulates the Class of 2011, and sends all best wishes for a wonderful commencement this evening.

Thank you, seniors, for being a part of our Fine Arts programs at DGN for the past four years.  We wish you well in all your future endeavors!

Chamber Choir Farewell Concert

Congratulations to the musicians of the 2010-2011 DGN Chamber Choir for an impressive performance this evening at the annual Farewell Concert.

A big shout out - and thanks - to our alumni that attended and participated through song this evening. It was great to have you back on campus with us.
