AP Art History Tours Oriental Institute at the University of Chicago

Mrs. Bernard and the DGN AP Art History students went to the Oriental Institute at the University of Chicago for an amazing guided tour.  

DGN Visual Artists Garner Six Awards at Chicagoland 4x5 Show

Congratulations to six DGN Visual Artists who received awards at the recent Chicagoland 4x5 Art Show hosted by Oswego High School.

In Sculpture, Ryan Martin received 1^st prize and Jill Krejci received an Honorable Mention.

In Relief, Kyle Mitchell received 1^st prize, Emma Gammonley received 2^nd prize, and Sydney Garafalo received an Honorable Mention.

In Mixed Media Audrey Staron received 3^rd prize.

The 4x5 Art Show forces student artists to work within the parameters of a less than ordinary dimension. This idea evolved so that more work could be shown, more schools could participate and more ideas could be born. The exhibition showcased over 1000 pieces, surpassing most Chicago galleries in quantity and grandeur.  Commonly known as the "biggest little art show," the 4x5 show returned to the Chicagoland region after a recent short hiatus and being reimagined by the Oswego High School Fine Arts Department.

Mark your calendars! The 20th Annual DGN Mosaic Concert & Art Show are just a week away! The concert will be presented December 6th at 5:30 & 8:00 PM. The Art Show Awards Reception will be held December 7th at 6:00 PM.

Universal Studios and Departing For Home

Today was spent celebrating a successful performance tour with a fun-filled visit to Universal Studios - Orlando, and the Islands of Adventure.

Before departing our hotel this morning Band President Audrey M. & Vice President Kevin G. presented very generous and thoughtful "thank you gifts" to the adult staff and chaperones who assisted in the coordination of the tour. Principal, Ms. Janice Schwarze also addressed the Band, thanking them for their musicianship and congratulating students for their impressive behavior and professionalism.
